Hire
Hire, from the phone call to the machine coming back
What is out, what is due back, where the machine actually is this morning and what each period is worth. Written for a dealer who hires and sells, not for a hire company that does nothing else.
Stalmio in 2 Minutes
What it does
The parts of Stalmio this department lives in, in the order you meet them. Every one has a short film right here, and a page of its own.
Storefront
Your website is your shop window, and most dealers' windows are years out of date.
- Your stock, sorted the way a buyer actually looks for a digger.
- The hire catalogue shows only what is genuinely free today. Machines out on contract simply are not there.
- Pick a look, add your logo and colours, and you are done. No agency, no developer, no three week wait.
Hire contracts
The contract ended five days ago and the machine has not come back.
- The contract flags itself the day it runs over, with what is still unpaid and the deposit still held.
- Open the tracker and see where the machine actually is, not where it was meant to be.
- Book the collection from the same screen, and machines that are back show up in your public hire catalogue.
Transport
Every machine move is money on wheels, and most of them are priced by guesswork.
- Delivery, collection and who is carrying it, all planned in one place.
- Open a job and the route is drawn for you, with the carrier named and the window set.
- Prices come off your own rate card with your margin on top, so you can quote a move while the customer is still on the phone.
Telematics and compliance
Nobody can tell you where every machine is without ringing round.
- Every tracked machine on one map, including a fault flagged before anyone on site rings to tell you.
- Filter to what is out on hire and see them sitting on the customers' sites.
- Statutory inspections live here too, flagged early rather than when they become an argument on site.
Billing
Knowing who owes you what should not need a spreadsheet and a good memory.
- Every bill is created from the thing it belongs to, so it is right because it was never retyped.
- Chasing is one click, the bill goes out attached to it, and it is logged so nobody chases twice.
- It all flows into your accounting software, which issues the formal invoice.

Accounting
Every bill is typed twice, and the second typing is where the numbers stop agreeing.
- A bill you approve becomes a sales invoice in Xero or wFirma, on your own account codes and tax rates.
- Deposits post to a liability and are applied when the supply happens, so they never look like revenue.
- One invoice per bill, re-read rather than re-created, so a retry can never leave a duplicate behind.

On the phone
Paper job sheets, photos stuck on personal phones, and work written up three days late
- The dealer app installs onto any phone straight from the browser.
- Field gives engineers their jobs, checklists, photos and hours.
- It all works with no signal and syncs when the phone is back.
Who it is for
The kinds of dealer this was built for. Start with the one that sounds like your business.
Questions dealers ask
- We sell machines and we hire them out. Do we need two systems?
- No, and that is the whole reason this page exists. The same machine can be out on hire this week and sold next month, and its costs, photos and history follow it across, so nothing is typed in twice and the two sides of the business never disagree about what you own.
- How do we know a machine is overdue back?
- The contract has an end date, so a machine still out five days after that date flags itself instead of waiting for somebody to notice on a Friday. The off-hire, the collection and the final period all hang off that same contract.
- Can we see where a hired machine actually is?
- If the machine carries a tracker, yes, and the position and the hours sit on the machine record rather than in somebody else's portal. A machine with no tracker still has its contract, the site it went to and its last movement, which is more than a phone call round the yard gives you.

A demo is a conversation, not a slideshow. Bring your machines, your hire fleet and the part of the week that annoys you most.
